The Werner extension ladder jacks are lightweight and attach quickly to extension-ladder rungs， so they are a lot more mobile than steel frame scaffolding. The aluminum jacks have an A-shape construction. The top joint and the cross bars connect with through bolts and lock nuts. The Werner lightweight ladder jack slips over extension ladder rungs with cupped bars. A proprietary clamping system secures the ladder jack to the planked or platform stage with channel clamps， and the two jacks work together with the rung braces to provide a rigid and sturdy frame.
